Software provider looking for angels

Software provider Compassoft has snagged a prestigious invitation to the annual Angel and Venture Capital Summit May 23-24 in El Dorado Hills hosted by Golden Capital Network. Since 1999, companies showcased at these venture capital forums have gone on to raise nearly $1 billion in private equity capital.

A total of 34 companies will make presentations to investors. Compassoft is in the "Elite 8" group after receiving an endorsement from one of the participating venture capitalists in advance of the conference.

Compassoft released software last August to help companies comply with federal disclosure requirements and then acquired two firms, Spreadsheet Auditing and Wimmer Systems.

Headed by Paul Bach, the company has under 40 employees. The development team is based on Scotts Valley Drive near Technology Circle.
